Privacy policy
Openszn is an open source desktop app for running coding agents. This policy covers the Openszn app and this website. The short version: we don't collect your personal data. There is no Openszn account and no telemetry.
The app
Your chats, projects, files, settings and plugin data are stored on your computer, in the app's own data folder. They are not sent to us. We don't run servers that receive them.
The app has no analytics, no tracking and no crash reporting. Crash diagnostics stay on your machine.
Because the app is open source, you can check all of this in the source code.
Agents and AI providers
When you use an agent (for example Claude Code, Codex or Gemini CLI), that agent sends your prompts, and the files and context it reads, to the AI provider behind it, using the account you signed in with. That data is handled by the provider under their terms and privacy policy, not ours. Review the policies of the providers you use.
Sign-ins are stored by each agent's own tools on your computer (for example in your macOS Keychain). Openszn doesn't receive or store your passwords or tokens.
The usage numbers shown in the app are read on your computer from each agent's own usage information and are not sent anywhere.
Network requests the app makes
Besides the requests your agents make, the app contacts a few services directly:
- Updates: the installed app checks GitHub Releases for new versions and downloads them from GitHub.
- Agent installs: when you install an agent, the app downloads it from its official source (such as npm or the ACP Registry) and checks its version information there.
- Connectors: the Connectors page reads the list of MCP servers from the official MCP Registry (registry.modelcontextprotocol.io) and loads each server's icon from its publisher's site.
- The built-in browser: pages you or an agent open load directly from their websites, like in any browser.
Those services can see your IP address and standard request details, as with any download or website visit. We don't receive that information.
Plugins
Plugins you install can add features to the app. Before installing, the app shows what each plugin is allowed to do. Plugins written by other people are their responsibility. Only install plugins you trust.
This website
This site has no sign-up, no analytics, no advertising and no tracking cookies. Fonts and videos are served from the site itself.
The site is hosted by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser and pages requested) to operate and secure the service. See Vercel's privacy policy for details.
Children
Openszn is a developer tool and isn't directed at children under 13.
Changes
If this policy changes, for example if a future paid plan needs an account, we'll update this page and its date before the change takes effect.
